Profil

Sabine Möbs ist Professorin für Wirtschaftsinformatik an der DHBW Heidenheim. Dort baut sie das Augmented Reality Labor auf, als Teil eines Living Lab für Open Innovation in den Bereichen Augmented Reality, Digital Learning, UX und Accessibility. Ihr besonderes Interesse gilt der EU-Afrika-Kollaboration zu Themen der Digitalisierung. Sie betreut Masterarbeiten und Promotionen an der Partnerhochschule NM-AIST, Tansania in diesen Themenbereichen. Ihre Promotion, die sie in der School of Electronic Engineering der Dublin City University erworben hat, beschäftigte sich mit Adaptiven Multimedia E-Learning Systemen. Vor ihrem Wechsel in die Wissenschaft und Forschung war sie Gründungspräsidentin und Geschäftsführerin eines innovativen IT-Unternehmens mit Sitz in der Schweiz und Spanien, Gründerin eines IT- Unternehmens in Süddeutschland und Inhaberin eines Beratungsunternehmens in Bereich nachhaltige Regionalentwicklung mit Arbeitsschwerpunkten in Sachsen und Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

Biographical Details

Sabine Moebs was appointed as professor to the Cooperative State University Baden Wuerttemberg, Germany in July 2013. She received her PhD from Dublin City University in 2011, her MSc (Res) in Learning Technologies from the National College of Ireland/HEA in 2008 and her BA (hons) in Business Administration from the Open University, UK and her Diplom (BA) in Business Informatics from the Cooperative State University Baden Wuerttemberg, Germany in a joint degree program in 2002. She was an Irish Research Council (IRC) Postdoctoral Fellow in collaboration with FluidRock at the Digital Hub and Dublin City University, Dublin from July 2011 to July 2013.

She is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), the User Experience Professionals Association (UXPA) and webgrrls.de, the German business network for women in digital media. She is lecturer for Usability and Accessibility Engineering and has previously taught other subjects such as Business/Management Information Systems, Online Marketing, Usability Testing and Implementation, Business Communication and Software Engineering. She has presented at numerous academic and professional conferences and published conference papers and articles in such journals as Journal of Universal Computer Science (JUCS), IEEE Learning Technologies Newsletter and International Journal of Advanced Corporate Learning (IJACL) and has worked in different research groups in Germany and Ireland.

She was a member of the Performance Engineering Lab (PEL) and of RINCE, the Research Institute for Networks and Communications Engineering at DCU. At Fraunhofer Institute for Experimental Software Engineering she was a member of the Requirements and Usability Engineering group, the SME SPICE assessment team, as well as a member of the Competence Center for Software Technology and Training, a research lab for SMEs.

Before moving to Ireland in 2006 she has been working as a researcher in software engineering and in marketing and product development in several small IT companies. As freelance project manager for regional development projects she has worked with project partners in Latvia, Poland, Sweden and the US. She is an experienced consultant, moderator and project manager in such diverse areas as regional development, business development in SMEs, learning technologies and in the area of user experience and accessibility.
